It was fantastic to be a part of The Hospitality Network’s Stakeholder Conference held in Dubai in January 2019.
Not your usual exhibition, it was a more informal gathering of suppliers and buyers all of whom were highly interested in learning as much as they could about each other. No pressure selling, no pushy tactics, just an atmosphere of sharing information that was great to behold.
We are extremely grateful to all who took the time to talk to us and we learnt a lot about particular needs and requirements that has given us great insight into how to improve our service.
A networking evening started it off where lots of interesting conversations were held accompanied by some great food (the sushi was especially delicious we thought). So perhaps we were a little late to bed, but it was worth it…
The following day was the main event and throughout we had a series of arranged meetings with buyers. This was intense but very rewarding. If a participant wasn’t available, the organisers were quick to find another who was willing to step in. The flexibility and interest shown by both buyers and organisers was extremely refreshing and not one we were used to seeing at previous exhibitions.
The day ended with a Polynesian themed gala dinner which was another wonderful opportunity to meet people and hopefully grow our network of contacts in the region.
All in all an intense but worthwhile experience – and we still have many more emails to write!
